I'll ask the question I asked yesterday

Who on here would have taken Arteta or Callum Wilson?

Some of his midfield play was good but if you concede a goal frequently you really need to make at least one goal or what's the fucking point?

You can put your life savings on Arsenal beating us on Boxing day, we won't get turned over 5 nil etc but we will lose, it's so fucking depressing!

Howe has completely rejuvenated the Fat Geordies in less time than Moyes and ironically given their financial clout with less money.

I'm sure most on here will be delighted with that, Brand0. Its less than a week since everyone was desperate for more attacking quality from our defenders

To be fair to Moyes, that's probably the quickest I've seen him react when he's felt like he's had to make a substitution.

It normally takes him the majority of the game for it to settle in with him that changes are needed.

Man U and West Ham U were very equal. The difference was Kehrer and Rashford.
Kehrer is like a poor mans trent alexander arnold

I don't subscribe to the he's been booked so take him off. We needed a goal, he was our goal threat.
For all Antonios hustle and bustle, did you honestly think he would score?

Winning with ten minutes left, maybe.

Stewie -Yep, totally get your point, I suppose my point is we are competitive in most games now and don't roll over. We only seem to have this issue away to the bigger sides, by memory we've done pretty well against them at home in recent years, maybe Arsenal discounting.

i've watched us get totally overrun by Man Utd in the past as well. Good Man Utd teams. I've also watched us beat good Man Utd teams. Losing to a poor Man Utd team by one goal 5 times in a row or whatever it is isn't an improvement on that necessarily.

Moyes had no ckoice but to sub Scammacca. After he got a yellow card for nothing and then got away without a yellow for the high foot, he was one foul away from a red.

Zoso - Yea it's true we are no longer that side that goes up north and gets thumped 4-0 or anywhere for that matter, and I suppose it's fair to say that we have progressed and are now one of the top 10 sides in the country. But like you say we should be doing much better, and we still need 2 or 3 more first teamers to really push us on, particularly wing backs and another forward.

The last 20 mins v Chelsea, Liverpool & Man U we have been the better side.
How the penny doesnt drop to think ...maybe we should start more on the front foot like that ... I dont know.

At the end Man U (esp DeGea) defended very well (unlike Kehrer at the far post ...seemed unaware of Rashford or unable to cope) and you could see how they celebrated at the end to show how much they relied on their defence.
Frustrating that we always seem to come up against the DeGea of 5 years ago and never see his bungles or errors.

Rubbish. Kehrer is supposed to be a top-quality international CB. His failure to spot his man or contest the header was fucking embarrassing to watch and was the sole reason we lost the match.

Re: ⚽ Man Utd v West Ham - Official Match Thread - Preview
putting it in perspective, their best players were their keeper, right back and Martinez. We narrowly lost. They celebrated like they'd won the FA Cup, same as last season.

I've watched us get totally overrun at Old Trafford in the past. We're better than that now, but we still aren't good enough. I put part of that down to Moyes failure to get another striker in. Bowen had a stinker again, and Scamacca had to be hooked because of the yellow card. We could have put Antonio and our missing striker on and hooked Bowen. Two fresh strikers could have produced the bit of quality we have lacked, as evidenced by the goals drying up.

its not unlucky if you keep doing the same shit on repeat and keep losing, and almost always by the same scoreline

Same old predictable boring useless shit really. Moyes goes to a big team sets up not to lose and then loses.

How many more games do we give Moyes doing the same old shit costing us points when he clearly isn't learning repeating the same old clueless ideas.

The STATS i've seen last 24 hours are damning for Moyes, most away games lost in 2022, least amount of first half goals this season, Liverpool conceeded first and early on most games this season and he goes there with Downes in CAM.

We have been shit for the majority of 2022, and he has spent £180M on a team that finished 7th and somehow taken us backwards. Surely its time to say thanks and bid farewell?

The goal was all about Downes not providing Cresswell with the cover he needs these days while Rice was trying to accommodate the inclusion of an under-par Soucek. Not saying Kerher wasn’t at fault mind you but that cross should never have been allowed to happen.

A piss poor Man Utd side? Sorry, I'm not having that! At the beginning of the season, they were pretty average but under Ten Hag they have made huge improvements. They are 4th, on an upward trajectory, playing in what is the most competitive league in the world.

We made a decent fist of it. Negative tactics? 13 shots, of which 5 on target at Old Trafford? I've watched us play time and time again up there, or at Anfield where we barely turn up, and then get stuffed. It's a long fucking drive back after that.

One of the positives for me in this present Moyes reign, is that we never seem to give up and keep going. Fucking Man Utd knew they'd dodged a bullet yesterday and celebrated as if they'd won the fucking FA Cup.

Yes, we've played badly at times this season; Brighton and Soton being 2 that spring to mind. But I thought we played pretty well yesterday. Somebody said we made Maguire look good? No we fucking didn't! He was one lucky fucking cunt. He didn't know where the fuck he was when that shot by Benny bounces back off his heel! If Horse face is relying on him for the World Cup then God help us!

Now, in case you cunts think I'm being too positive, and that everything is happy clappy in the WHU camp, I don't. Whilst I understand that Moyes wants Downes in that position further forward, to defend from the front, I think we can safely say after 2 games that that experiment has failed. Move on Moyesie. Soucek? Where do you start? And I'd have the midfield and attackers in every fucking day practising their shooting for an hour or so. Yes, we have been bloody unlucky in front of goal but let's see how much luckier we can be with more practise.
